Slice of Life #7: Let’s Go ‘Cuse!

While I am deeply committed to doing my part – especially covering what needs to be covered and taking up whatever slack I can so that my female colleagues can… nurse their colds today… 😉

…I’m also deeply committed to my hometown, and today’s gonna be a good one for Syracuse!

We play Miami today, in Brooklyn, as part of the opening of the NCAA men’s basketball tournament. We’re a 2.5 point underdog, and it’ll be an exciting match up, I’m sure!

Syracuse is the snowiest city in the contiguous United States, and people think I’m nuts when I say it, but I really do miss the snow and the cold! But more importantly, I miss the beauty of Upstate. Anybody who knows Western, Central, and Upstate New York knows it’s a stunning place, truly gorgeous.

Thinking of my hometown today. Go ‘Cuse!

Also, because it’s International Women’s Day, and Twitter sucks sometimes, here’s my non-written but still-bloggy contribution to counterbalance the imbeciles calling for equality in a way that doesn’t provide any equality at all.

  1. Our kids spent two years in Ithaca while our son-in-law was at Cornell. We loved every visit! Of course we never visited in the winter. And the ice cream is the best!

    1. I lived in Ithaca for six years, as I was a music education major as an undergraduate at Ithaca. I enjoyed it so; what a marvelous city. And absolutely, Ithaca has some tremendous food all around!
