Thought to have moved to Water Valley, Mississippi between 1915 and 1920 where he remained until his death. Evelyn E. Reeves visited his first cousins (Stephens children) during the 1950's and 1960's while he was driving a truck for Dealer's Transport. No contact has been made with this line of the family since that time. Talked to Mildred Shivers in June 1992 and she told me that some of her people have been keeping in touch with the descendants of Stephen Reeves, Jr. but that they live in the area of Carthage, MS.

Note: The Honorable George R. Reeves - The Man for whom 2600 square mile west Texas county was named. Born in Tennessee, he married Jane Moore in 1844 in Arkansas. Came to Texas in 1845. Was Grayson county tax collector 1848-1850, Sheriff 1850-1854, served as State Representative 1855-1861, Commissioned Army Officer 1863, participated in the Battle of Chickamaugua and Hundred Day Atlanta Campaign, returned to Legislature 1873, Speaker of the House of Representatives 1881-1882. Burial: Georgetown Cemetery, Grayson County, Texas.
